Alcohol and Other Drugs

alcohol icon

Alcohol and other drugs contribute to numerous public health and public safety problems in Minnesota and the nation. Alcohol kills tens of thousands of people in the United States each year, ranking as the third leading cause of death after tobacco, and diet and physical inactivity.

Our mission is to strengthen the capacity of local public health agencies and their communities to implement population-based health promotion approaches to reduce alcohol and other drug-related problems. To achieve this, we provide technical assistance, consultation and support. We connect people with resources, particularly those focusing on effective behavior change strategies and building supportive environments for chemical health promotion.

This website is one way of connecting you with these resources.
