The Minnesota Department of Health announces adoption into rule of revised Minnesota Uniform Companion Guide for the Implementation of the ASC X12N/005010X279A1 Health Care Eligibility Benefit Inquiry and Response (270/2710), version 12.0

The primary revision in the v12.0 rule is a clarification of instructions related to compliance with the CAQH-CORE Phase II Operating Rule 260.

v12.0 MDH companion guide rule for the Eligibility Inquiry and Response (270-271) transaction (PDF), with changes from v10.0 (the last previously adopted version) shown in underline-strikeout format.

This v12.0 companion guide rule is effective April 25, 2018. For more information, please see the Minnesota State Register (pages 1151-1152).

The Minnesota Department of Health announced that a Limited Exception for Non-HIPAA Payers from Minnesota's Requirements for Only the Standard, Electronic Exchange of Eligibility Transactions (270-271) is Continued For 2018.

Notice of Proposed Revised Rule:

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) announced a proposed revised companion guide rule for the Eligibility Inquiry and Response (270-271) transaction and a 30-day period to submit public comments regarding the proposed revisions. The primary proposed revision is a clarification of instructions related to compliance with the CAQH-CORE Phase II Operating Rule 260.

Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) adopts revised Minnesota Uniform Companion Guide rules for three health care administrative transactions.

MDH published an announcement today in the State Register (pgs 150-154) of adoption into rule of the following revised Minnesota Uniform Companion Guides (MUCGs) for the Implementation of the

  • ASC X12N/005010X214E2 Health Care Claim Acknowledgment (277), version 8.0
  • ASC X12N/005010X221A1 Health Care Claim Payment/Advice (835), version 12.0
  • ASC X12N/005010X224A2 Health Care Claim: Dental (837), version 12.0

The above-named MUCGs become effective September 13, 2017.
