Minnesota Health Statistics Annual Summary

The Minnesota Health Statistics Annual Summary is a report published yearly, ten to eleven months following the close of a calendar year. A broad range of summary statistical data for the state of Minnesota, as well as some county-level data, is presented in these subject areas:

  • Live Births
  • Fertility
  • Infant Mortality and Fetal Deaths
  • General Mortality
  • Marriage and Divorce
  • Population

Due to a systems change and the adoption of the 2003 national standard for birth and death records in early 2011, some changes have been made to this report. Much of the county-level data, including population estimates, previously reported in this publication can now be found in the County Health Tables. Beginning in 2011, two additional reports on race and birthplace of mother have been added to the natality section. Additional natality tables have been added to the 2013 report as well. Data on marriage and divorce is not available after 2009.
