CHANGES and ENHANCEMENTS to MN VRV2000
The following are descriptions of a few of the changes and enhancements that have been made to MN VRV2000. Some of the changes resulted from requests made by users and some grew out of internal OSR discussions. For more information about this topic, you may e-mail your questions to mchs-fd@health.state.mn.us.
Minnesota Statutes, sections 383B.225 and 390.23, requires a Coroner or Medical Examiner to provide the cause of death when the manner of death is not natural (e.g., accident, homicide, suicide, pending investigation). MN VRV2000 has been enhanced to require the user to select only a medical examiner, coroner, or their designee to provide cause of death when the manner of death is not natural. The drop-down list will show only those that have been designated as medical examiners or coroners and will be sorted by county. The drop-down list will show physicians when the manner of death is natural or the manner of death is not known.
