Pitch the Commissioner

Pitch the Commissioner

Horseshoes and Healthy Communities

Pitch the Commissioner is an event that allows people in communities around the state to join Minnesota Health Commissioner Ed Ehlinger in a game of horseshoes while they pitch him ideas of what they believe their community needs to be healthy, and other public health issues.

“Pitching horseshoes is a fun and easy way for people to be physically active and engage in conversation at the same time,” Commissioner Ehlinger said. “It’s great to get out and visit people around the state, and hear their thoughts on what their communities need to be healthy.”

This will be the fifth summer Commissioner Ehlinger has chatted up Minnesotans over horseshoes. This time around, he is particularly interested in hearing about what the state can do to strengthen communities' capacity to create their own healthy future.
