What is the Environmental Health Resource Compendium for Emergency Response?
This Resource Compendium is an electronic collection of information on environmental health issues likely to be faced during emergencies and disasters. It will be accessible from anywhere, if you have a computer—even during times when the Internet may be down—because you are able to carry it with you on a USB flash drive that can be plugged into your computer.
The Resource Compendium is organized around the major functional areas of environmental health (such as food protection, solid and hazardous waste management, emergency shelter, vector control, and others). It highlights information specific to target audiences (including community members, regulated entities, first responders, and health-care providers). Materials selected for inclusion were peer-reviewed by a panel of state and local environmental health practitioners, in response to technical resource needs identified by those with first-hand experience responding to an emergency.
Instructions for downloading the Resource Compendium onto a USB flash drive can be found on our Environmental Health Resource Compendium for Emergency Response Web page.
