Water Guidance for Selected Priority Chemicals
In 2011, all nine Priority Chemicals were nominated for review consideration under MDH's Drinking Water Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CEC) program. The CEC program creates guidance values for contaminants found in water (see Protecting Minnesota's Water Resources).
Four of the Priority Chemicals, shown below, have been selected for review. In October 2012, groundwater guidance values for butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) were completed. Guidance for bisphenol A (BPA) was completed in November 2012. Information about the water guidance is available through the links below:
- Bisphenol A (BPA)
- Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP)
- Dibutyl phthalate (DBP)
- Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP)
Guidance values for DEHP will be available when completed. The review selection status of other chemicals nominated for the CEC program can be viewed in the Chemical Nominations Table which is an attachment to the CEC program quarterly reports located on the CEC Program Activities page.
