The InterAgency Review Council (IARC) is an advisory council to the Minnesota Departments of Health (MDH) and Agriculture (MDA). The council is charged to respond to requests for clarification of the Minnesota Food Code and other rules and statutes affecting the foodservice, beverage, bakery, retail food, and lodging industries. The IARC also considers new technologies that affect those industries.

The council is comprised of local health agencies, MDH, MDA, the foodservice industry, retail food industry, bakery industry, food equipment manufacturers, and consumers.

The IARC meets bimonthly to review any issues that have been submitted. Issues are usually brought to the council by representatives of one of the affected industries or by regulators who would like clarification about a particular rule, process or product.
