Establishment

In response to the EHKMP Steering Committee’s decision to initially focus project efforts on the food program, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), Environmental Health Division (EHD) solicited volunteers to serve on the EHKMP Working Group (Food Program).  Many well-qualified persons responded to the call for volunteers.  Keeping in mind the desire to bring together a small diverse group of persons that share a common interest in improving the collection and sharing of food program information on a statewide basis, the EHKMP Steering Committee made the final selections of EHKMP Working Group (Food Program) members in mid-May 2006.

Members

The EHKMP Working Group (Food Program) consisted of ten members, including four local partner representatives, four MDH representatives, a representative of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA), and a representative of the Minnesota Environmental Health Association); two Steering Committee members (a local representative and an industry representative) participated in EHKMP Working Group (Food Program) meetings as ex officio. 

Staff members from the Division Services Section of the MDH’s Environmental Health Division (EHD) provided the EHKMP Working Group (Food Program) with support for all administrative matters.

Purpose

The EHKMP Working Group (Food Program) was established for the purpose of providing guidance to the implementation of the Environmental Health(EH) Knowledge Management Project. The Working Group’s (Food Program) roles, responsibilities, and the process used for decision making are outlined in a Membership and Charge (PDF: 81KB/3 pages) document that was developed for the EHKMP.
