Meth Lab Program

meth lab The Methamphetamine Program at the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) works to protect human health by providing technical advice for the remediation (cleaning) of meth labs and sharing resources for the evaluation and decontamination of property exposed to illegal meth lab activities.

Meth can be made from common household chemicals and products that are mixed or "cooked" and create potentially harmful chemical residues that can remain on surfaces for months or years after "cooking" is over. See our What is Meth Web page for more information.

New Cleanup Guidelines

The Minnesota Department of Health is in the process of revising the Clandestine Drug Labs General Cleanup Guidelines (guidance) and Contractors' Report. The 2007 version of the Clandestine Lab General Cleanup Guidelines is still in effect at this time.
