Contaminants of Emerging Concern
Communications and Outreach
Due to the exceptional public and scientific interest regarding contaminants of emerging concern, we consider it especially important to maintain lines of communication with all interested parties as we conduct our work. We are aware that many individuals and groups have an interest in contaminants that have the potential to threaten the quality of Minnesota’s water. In addition, because the program is funded through the Constitutional amendment (the Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment, see: Minnesota Constitution), MDH provides frequent and clear communication about program activities, coordinates with other Clean Water Fund (CWF) project partners, and reports progress to the Legislative Coordinating Commission.
CEC program staff have established a Contaminant Screening Criteria and Prioritization Development Task Group, a Communication, Education, and Outreach Task Group, and an Advisory Forum. The annual Advisory Forum meeting was held on February 9, 2012.
Additionally, staff meet with various representatives from local, state, and federal government agencies, academic programs, non-profit groups, industry groups, and drinking water and wastewater professional organizations.
If you would like to be kept informed of our activities and notified of upcoming public meetings, subscribe to our GovDelivery email subscription service. We typically send out two or three notices per month.
