Public Notice To Replace Water Tower

The city of Enchantment is requesting public comments on the potential environmental impact of replacing the water tower.

The current tower was built in 1923, and the metal is rusted beyond reasonable repair. In addition, the capacity is only one third the city's average daily use. A new 200-foot high 2-million-gallon tower will be built on Nob Hill, 300 feet north of the Scenic View cul-de-sac. The old tower will be demolished.

The city intends to finance the project with a drinking water revolving fund loan. The loan is being jointly administered by the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority and the Minnesota Department of Health.

Comments must be received by 5:00 PM on (date which is at least 30 days after date of publication). They are to be submitted to Janet Exley, City Clerk/Treasurer, City Hall, Enchantment, MN xxxxx.

The city of Charm is holding a public meeting and is accepting public comments for the construction of a new public water supply well and pumphouse.

The well is expected to provide 1,000 gallons of water per minute. The site is Lot 3, Block 5, Anderson Addition in Section 2, T120N, R10E, Great Plains Township. The address is 124xx 376th St. West. (An alternative would be to use a map to identify the site.)

Written comments to consider environmental impacts will be accepted through (date which is at least 30 days after date of publication). Submit them to the utilities superintendent at city hall. A public hearing on the well and pumphouse will be held as part of the regular council meeting at 7:00 PM, April 27, 2011 at the city hall council chambers, 335 W. Tuttle St., Charm, MN xxxxx.
