Postpartum Depression Education MaterialsPostpartum Depression Education legislation was passed during the 2005 Legislative Session. This legislation requires hospitals to provide new parents and other family members, as appropriate, written information about postpartum depression. It also requires providers of health care services to pregnant women to have available information on postpartum depression for pregnant women and their families. The educational materials that have been developed for new parents, pregnant women, and their families are available below. These materials can be used by hospitals and health care providers to meet the requirements of this legislation. The 2005 legislation also required MDH to establish policies and procedures regarding implementation of the legislation. The policies and procedures for health care providers that have been developed for implementation of this legislation are also available below.
