Oral Health Screening Online Module

Welcome to the Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Human Services online module for the oral health screening component of the Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) program. This module is designed for those who are involved in the screening of infants and children eligible for C&TC.

Upon completion of this module, you will be able to:

• Describe the Child and Teen Checkups Program and your role in providing oral health screening
• Describe the importance of oral health screening
• Identify and describe steps to oral health screening
• Identify common oral health problems in infants and children
• Describe dental caries prevention strategies
• Provide anticipatory guidance about oral health

The module is divided into five sections:

Section 1: Introduction
Section 2: Importance of Oral Health Screening
Section 3: Oral Health Screening Steps & Tips
Section 4: Common Oral Health Problems & Abnormalities
Section 5: Anticipatory Guidance for Oral Health & Prevention of Dental Caries

Each section will be followed by a quiz and will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
