Hearing Screening E-Learning Course

Welcome to the Minnesota Departments of Health and Human Services online e-learning course for the hearing-screening component of the Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) program.

This course contains the information needed to provide an accurate hearing screening to those Minnesota children and youth who are enrolled in C&TC. It is designed as a reference and does not replace the Minnesota Department of Health's scheduled in-person Hearing and Vision Screening Trainings.

Hearing Screening E-Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this training, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of hearing screening and early intervention.
  • Identify:
    • C&TC recommended and required age-appropriate hearing screening procedures
    • Age appropriate recommended hearing screening equipment and it's care.
    • Pass; rescreen, and refer criteria; and documentation.
