MN WIC Information and Resources for Local Agencies

Brief Overview of WIC (Data) Reports Currently Available

HuBERT, the MN WIC Information System, currently has two report functions:

  • WIC staff can create their own reports using the HuBERT Report Generator, a simple query tool that's easy to use.

Infoview Ad-Hoc Reporting Tool: MN WIC also uses Infoview software, a robust query tool that allows direct access to database tables. Templates can be created by the State and made available to local agency staff. We are currently piloting several templates with some local agencies. The ad-hoc query methods require familiarity with WIC data, tables and table structure, etc.

Data Dictionary: WIC data is very extensive and complex. To assist users, we have provided a Data Dictionary that lists some common tables, their fields, applicable values and allowed operators. We are revising the dictionary to be more user-friendly.

Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance (PedNSS) is a CDC report of MN WIC data.

Analysis of WIC Data Across Time: State staff are working on extensive analysis of WIC data across time, including health disparities, breastfeeding rates, weight status and birth outcomes. This information is available on the WIC Surveillance & Evaluation Data page.
