Information Bulletin 04-05
All Provider Types
CMS Training via Satellite Broadcast and Web cast
The purposes of this Information Bulletin are to (1) provide notice of the Centers for Medicare and Medicate Services (CMS) informational satellite broadcasts to providers and consumers; and (2) facilitate joint training between state survey agency and providers using the technology available via satellite communication.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services provides a distance learning satellite network to facilitate off-site training and provide an efficient, timely means of communicating changes in regulations, policy, procedure, and new expectations for State Agency surveyors and investigators. The goal of the learning network is to provide real time training and communication to regional offices and state survey agencies. Topics include clinical standards of practice and program quality initiatives.
The Minnesota Department of Health encourages Facilities and Providers to access these resources related to residents/patient/client issues in all health care settings. CMS and/or MDH have identified many of these broadcasts as mandatory for State Agency surveyors and investigators who are viewing these on an on-going basis.
