Nutrition and Sanitary Conditions:

Implementation of Revised Nursing Home Federal Guidance


The purpose of this Information Bulletin is to inform providers and other interested parties that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released new Nursing Home Survey Guidelines for F325 (formerly F325 and F326), Nutrition, and F371 (formerly F370 and F371), Sanitary Conditions. Joint provider, consumer and surveyor training will be provided prior to the implementation of these guidelines by the Minnesota Department of Health in conjunction with stakeholder groups.


Minnesota Department of Health surveyors and investigators will implement the revised guidance related to: F325 Nutrition, and F371 Sanitary Conditions effective October 20, 2008.

Joint Training:

MDH, in conjunction with Care Providers of Minnesota, Minnesota Health and Housing Alliance, The Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care, and Minnesota Directors of Nursing Association, is sponsoring an educational session via statewide videoconference related to the revised guidance. There is no charge to attend this training.

This 3 hour Statewide video conference will be broadcast on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Videoconference sites are available statewide. Individuals interested in attending must register via the website. To view available locations and register for the training use the following links:
