Webinar and Statewide Q&A Telephone Call
Purpose:
The purpose of this information bulletin is to inform licensed boarding care homes, home care providers, nursing homes, and supervised living facilities about a new TB webinar and upcoming TB telephone communication provided by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH).- MDH has available online a Tuberculosis (TB) Webinar. The webinar covers the specific steps that need to be addressed in order to comply with current TB infection control guidelines.
- MDH will sponsor a statewide telephone conference call related to TB on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 9 a.m. -11 a.m. The phone call will provide a Q&A opportunity related to TB.
Background:
In January, 2009 MDH issued four TB related Information Bulletins 09-02, 09-03, 09-04, and 09-05 that established a consistent process for licensed boarding care homes, home care providers, nursing homes, and supervised living facilities to follow the 2005 CDC TB Guidelines including educational tools for implementation.See: http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/fpc/profinfo/infobul.htm
This webinar and statewide phone call are related to these 4 information bulletins.
Background:
MDH has developed a webinar titled “The 2009 TB Waivers: What Health Care Facilities in Minnesota Need to Know.” Continuing Nursing Education credits will be available for completing this Webinar. No registration is required to participate in the Webinar.This can be viewed at the link below and is available 24 hours a day. MDH strongly recommends that this webinar be viewed prior to the April 17, 2009 phone call.

Statewide Phone Call:
MDH will host a statewide Q&A telephone conference call on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. CST on implementation of the 2005 TB CDC Guidelines as addressed in MDH Information Bulletins 09-02, 09-03, 09-04, and 09-05. The purpose will be to address questions from callers. Please view the TB webinar and then send questions you would like addressed to Elisabeth.Kingdon@state.mn.us by Wednesday, April 15, 2009.Callers must register for this phone call by Thursday, April 16, 2009 and registration is available until this time.
