It is the mission of the Cancer Control Section to reduce death and illness in Minnesota from cancers for which early detection saves lives.

Other Programs of the Cancer Control Section

  • The SAGEplus Program The Cancer Control Section has received funding to begin CDC's WiseWoman Program (Attention: by selecting this link you will be leaving the Minnesota Department of Health Web site). In Minnesota it is called SAGEplus. The SAGEplus program will provide low-income, under insured and uninsured women aged 40-64 years with chronic disease risk factor screening, lifestyle intervention, and referral services in an effort to prevent cardiovascular disease. Services have been provided to Sage-enrolled women at a limited number of sites since 2005.
