for LSN, RN and PHNs

Becoming an Asthma Educator and Care Manager

Participate in a FREE, 6 CEU Workshop hosted by the MDH Asthma Program

A specialized training workshop for Minnesota licensed school nurses (LSN), registered nurses (RN), and public health nurses (PHN) managing or working in the school health office or serving the community. Information and discussion surrounding asthma in the school health office will be a point of focus throughout the workshop. RN’s serving schools with high asthma rates are encouraged to attend.

The workshop will cover these core asthma topics:

  • Asthma prevalence
  • Goals of therapy Pathophysiology
  • Controlling factors that contribute to severity Monitoring symptoms
  • Medication administration
  • Co-morbidities
  • Optimizing education
  • Asthma in the school health office
