Support better nutrition in Minnesota schools
Support the national Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools initiative www.saladbars2schools.org/
Help get salad bars into 6,000 schools by fall 2013.
We believe every child should have the choice of healthy fruits and vegetables every day at school. However, in Minnesota most schools do not have the resources to purchase new equipment. There’s a solution: businesses and individuals across the state are stepping up to the challenge.
How can I help my local school get a salad bar?
Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools does the work for you. Only schools that have demonstrated a commitment to put the salad bar to use will be allowed to participate in this initiative.
Visit the Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools Website and select “Donate Now” at the top of the page. You have the option to donate to the general Let’s Move Salad Bars to Schools fund, or you can search for schools in your area. If you don’t see your school on the list, encourage your school to sign up today. One salad bar is $2500, which covers all equipment needed to use the salad bar including utensils, containers and cutting boards as well as shipping costs. Consider the impact: if a school that serves 800 students uses this salad bar just one day a week, that translates to 28,800 meals per school year. If all 800 students use the salad bar, that is only $0.09 per meal. Over three years, that is only $0.03 per meal!
Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools, dba Food Family Farming Foundation, is a 501c3 non-profit organization and donations are fully tax deductible.
