Nutrition: Minnesota Student Survey (MSS)
The Minnesota Student Survey or MSS is conducted by the Minnesota Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Public Safety. It is conducted every three years and targeted towards three student populations:
Students in regular public schools, charter schools, and tribal schools (6th, 9th, and 12th grades only) Students in alternative schools and area Learning Centers (all grades) Students in juvenile correctional facilities (all grades) The survey asks students about tobacco/drug/alcohol use, school climate, physical activity, violence and safety, health, diet, and other topics.
