Television/Screen Time and Health
Screen time has an impact when it comes to our health. Too often watching television, playing video games, surfing the internet or otherwise spending time in front of a screen replaces going outside, taking walks, playing and getting the physical activity needed to stay healthy.
This is true for people of all ages, and it may be of special concern with children. We also know that children spend a great deal of time with screens, an average of 32 hours a week for preschoolers and even more for older children. Screen-Free Week is a wonderful way to help children lead healthier, happier lives by reducing dependence on entertainment screen media—including television, video games, computers, and hand-held devices.
