We promote, encourage and support healthy and safe communities. We work to build capacity for individual, community and system change to improve health and prevent injury and chronic disease.

Creating a healthier future for all people in the state by dramatically reducing the impact of diabetes.

Cardiovascular Health Unit

Providing technical assistance, epidemiological expertise and coordinated partnerships to reduce heart attacks, strokes, and deaths, in addition to the disabilities suffered by heart disease and stroke survivors.

Injury & Violence Prevention

Supporting comprehensive programs that help reduce the risk of injury and violence with a staff that includes epidemiologists, research scientists, programmers, and prevention specialists.

Oral Health Program

Working to reduce the prevalence and impact of oral disease, enhance oral health care access and addresses oral health disparities in Minnesota through assessment, policy development and assurance.

Sexual Violence Prevention

Informing individuals, communities, providers, coalitions, organizations, policy and legislation about this major public health issue that results in long-term social and economic costs.
