Promoting health in all policies

Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is a process used to evaluate the positive and negative impacts of a plan, project, or policy on public health before it is approved, built or implemented. HIA requires access to high-quality data on areas that affect health including the environmental (transportation, land use, air quality) and economic and social factors where we live and work.

The MN Tracking Program provides public health data and consultation to inform HIAs and promote an approach that emphasizes "health in all policies."
