Adverse Events Reporting
The Minnesota Department of Health administers the Adverse Health Care Events Reporting System that requires all Minnesota hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, and regional treatment centers to report whenever one of 27 "never events" occurs.

Father's Adoption Registry
The Father's Adoption Registry was created by the Minnesota legislature (MN Statues, section 259.52) to allow possible biological, but not as yet legal, fathers to receive notice of pending adoption proceedings for their children.

Health Economics Program
The Health Economics Program produces a variety of reports, papers, issue briefs, and presentations, covering topics such as health care costs and spending, the uninsured, private market insurance trends, and hospital and other health care provider trends.

Medical Education and Research Costs (MERC)
Since 1998, MDH has distributed funds annually to teaching hospitals, clinics, and other sites around the state to support the clinical training of doctors, pharmacists, dentists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, and chiropractors.

The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care promotes access to quality health care for rural and underserved urban Minnesotans.

Office of the State Registrar
The Office of the State Registrar administers the civil registration system for vital statistics, collects and coordinates birth and death data collection at the state and local level.
