About Botulism
You can reduce your risk of getting natural botulism by carefully handling your food - especially your home-canned foods, oil-infused garlic or herbs. Never give honey to babies under 12 months of age since it may contain spores of Clostridium botulinum. Honey is safe for persons 1 year and older. To date, botulism has not been used as a terror weapon.
