What are the symptoms of flu?

Symptoms of H1N1 (swine) influenza are like regular flu symptoms. People with flu may have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills, and they may feel very tired. Many people also have vomiting and diarrhea. Nearly everyone with the flu has at least two of these symptoms.

Most people are sick with the flu for 3-5 days and get better on their own. If you aren't very sick, you don't need to seek medical help. But call a doctor or the Minnesota FluLine if the sick person has symptoms you are concerned about, such as a very high fever.
