Statistics on influenza immunization rates are collected via the Behavioral
Risk Factor Surveillance System. BRFSS is an ongoing data collection
program used in all U.S. states, and administered and supported by the
CDC. It gives a standard method for each state to collect data, usually
through phone interviews, about personal health behaviors that play a
major role in premature morbidity and mortality, such as immunization
rates.
