Minnesota's Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) agency leads overall pandemic planning for the state. MDH is the lead technical agency for human health issues.

• Ready Minnesota; State Agency Planning Resources
  The Minnesota Homeland Security and Emergency Management division of the Department of Public Safety offers these resources to help state agencies with their pandemic planning, including the avian influenza supplement to the Minnesota Emergency Operations Plan (MEOP). • DNR: Avian Influenza, Wild Birds, Hunting, and Bird Feeders
  The Department of Natural Resources is monitoring the Avian H5N1 situation in wild animals. Attention: Non-MDH link
  
  
• Minnesota Board of Animal Health: Avian Influenza
  The Board of Animal Health monitors the health of Minnesota domestic animals, including poultry, through systems that should detect the first cases of avian H5N1 in Minnesota domestic animals. Attention: Non-MDH link

Overall state of Minnesota planning

The MDH Pandemic Influenza Plan focuses on the human health aspects of pandemic influenza. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety is charged with coordinating the many Minnesota state agencies and organizations, including but not limited to MDH, who will play a role in responding to pandemic.
