What planning is being done to ensure chlorine supply for several weeks
of water purification if the transportation system breaks down?
Drinking water suppliers in the state have been notified of the potential
for disruption to supplies of chemicals used in water treatment. The major
systems in the state typically have an adequate supply of chlorine to continue
operation for several weeks. Smaller systems may run short of chlorine,
but in most cases, these systems can continue to provide safe drinking
water without using chlorine.
