Reporting Perinatal Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B is a reportable disease. In order to prevent perinatal transmission
of hepatitis B to newborns, all cases of HBsAg-positive pregnant women
must be reported to the Minnesota Department of Health. Cases can be reported
by completing the appropriate form below and faxing it to 651-201-5502.

Clinics should report HBsAg-positive pregnant women within one working day of the knowledge of the pregnancy.

Hospitals should report perinatal transmission of hepatitis B to MDH within 24 hours of birth using this form.
Reporting Hepatitis
Hepatitis (all primary viral types including A, B, C, D, and E) must be
reported to the Minnesota Department of Health within one working day.
