Pertussis Disease Statistics, 2009
Updated 7/16/10
Minnesota, like other parts of the nation, experienced an increase in reported cases of pertussis starting in 2008 which continued through 2009. The increase is not necessarily unexpected, since pertussis disease normally peaks every three to five years. The most recent peak period was 2004 to 2005. The Minnesota Department of Health continues to monitor disease levels.
