Dear Colleague: The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) requests that you take a sexual history screen for syphilis, provide prevention counseling, and solicit partners when appropriate for all your male patients in light of an alarming 87 percent increase in early syphilis cases. Syphilis Elimination Tool Kit now Available
Syphilis Elimination Tool Kits are now available to clinics to order. It contains the MDH Syphilis Testing and Treatment Protocol, Aid to Diagnosis information page, sample patient materials such as a Syphilis Brochure, and other useful materials. Visit the tool kit page for more information.

InSpot Minnesota now available from Hennepin County
A new on-line tool to help notify partners for those diagnosed with an STD or HIV is now available. Developed at the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic, it allows the user to send email “cards” informing them of their need to be tested.

MDH Syphilis Testing and Treatment Protocol
We now have a sample protocol clinicians may refer to aid in diagnosing and caring for patients with syphilis.
