West Nile virus resulting in encephalitis is reportable as an "Arboviral Encephalitis: Encephalitis caused by Viral Agents." Healthcare providers and clinical laboratories are required to report cases to the Minnesota Department of Health.
MDH staff also are available to provide clinical consultation regarding
testing and diagnosis of West Nile and other mosquito-transmitted
