The 2007 Minnesota Department of Health immunization conference hopes to bring together public and private partners to explore ongoing and upcoming issues related to vaccine preventable diseases and immunization.
The conference will feature presentations by Alan Hinman from the Task Force for Child Survival and Development, Paul Offit from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Greg Poland with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, L.J. Tan with the American Medical Association, and Donna Weaver from CDC. There is also a call for abstracts and posters, which will give local health care professionals an opportunity to showcase activities within their organizations, clinics, or agencies.
Objectives
Describe recent changes and additions to the childhood, adolescent and adult immunization schedules.
Discuss issues regarding vaccine safety and identify resources to enhance risk/benefit communication.
Identify strategies to enhance adolescent immunization.
Explore strategies for using the immunization information systems to improve immunization delivery.
Describe best practices for achieving immunization excellence.
Discuss recent and ongoing issues in vaccine preventable disease surveillance and epidemiology.
Certificates of attendance will be provided for those wishing to obtain CEUs. October 11 is 7.5 hours and October 12 is 5 hours for a total of 12.5 hours for the entire conference.
