Reporting immunization data

  • Process for Electronic Data Exchange with MIIC
    Information for organizations interested in submitting and/or exchanging data with the Minnesota Immunization Information Connection via flat file or HL7 file format. Includes: registration, pre-testing, and onboarding.

HL7 specifications

HL7 data submissions are required for Meaningful Use data submissions. Meaningful Use Stage 1 ongoing submitters may continue to send in HL7 2.3.1/2.4. All other Meaningful Use data submissions must follow the HL7 2.5.1 specification. Organizations not participating in Meaningful Use are encouraged but not required to submit in HL7 format.

Flat file specifications

Flat file data submissions do not meet Meaningful Use requirements.

Flu spreadsheet data submissions do not meet Meaningful Use requirements.

  • MIIC Flu Spreadsheet
    Using the MIIC Flu Excel Spreadsheet to record and submit shots administered to MIIC; the spreadsheet is especially useful for mass vaccination clinics and targeted vaccination campaigns.
