This resource includes examples and information about successful cross-sector collaboration and how these partnerships implemented a Health in All Policies (HiAP) approach to a policy issue. It includes a list of talking points and general strategies for implementing HiAP strategies. It ends with a series of quotes from national non-public health sectors about the value of a HiAP approach.
When to Use
Use the talking points when starting to work across sectors to address health inequities. The examples provided could be used to help identify how to start working across sectors, the importance of public health as a supporter of the work and not the lead and how organizing people at the local level can benefit policymakers.
Things to Consider
While the guide was produced for state and territorial health departments, the strategies can be applied to local public health.
