Worksite Policies for Tobacco-Free Grounds
Brown-Nicollet Community Health Board
Almost 40% of college students either began smoking (11.0%) or became regular smokers (28.0%) after starting college (Rigotti, 2000). At current rates, an estimated one in nine of today's college students will die of tobacco-related illness. Campuses provide an opportune setting for interventions that help young adults make healthful decisions about tobacco use.
