The 2008 Minnesota Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Conference: Engaging Communities and Transforming Health Care was June 23-24, 2008 in Duluth, Minnesota

For two full days we exchanged ideas and shared experiences on the innovations, collaborations and transformations that allow our rural health communities to flourish in response to emerging challenges.

Monday morning and early afternoon focused on the roles and responsibilities of Critical Access Hospitals within their towns and extended communities. Monday afternoon featured the popular Rural Health Policy Forum with Minnesota Legislators engaging us in recent health care issues, followed by a reception overlooking Duluth’s harbor along breathtaking Lake Superior. Tuesday’s keynotes and breakout sessions took an in-depth look at the quality, workforce, financial viability and population of rural health communities.
