The theme of Minnesota’s 2009 Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Conference, “Rethinking Rural Health Care: A Community Effort,” suggests that entire communities need to be engaged in change to allow rural health systems to flourish.

This conference provides an opportunity to showcase forward-thinking solutions to challenges while transforming health care for the future.

We anticipate over 300 participants including:

  • Rural hospital, long term care, rural health clinic and community-based services administrations and volunteers
  • Rural health professionals such as physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses, allied health professionals and educators, rural dentists and pharmacists
  • Rural Health Advisory Committee (RHAC) members
  • State legislators and county commissioners
  • State and local public health staff
  • Health plan representatives
  • Policy analysts, researchers and students interested in rural health issues
  • Educators
  • Community leaders
  • Other partners in rural communities.

Contact Sally Trnka at (218) 727-9390, ext 233 or email strnka@ruralcenter.org for information.
