HEALTH CARE WORKFORCE SNAPSHOT

The health care industry represents 13.8 percent of total employment in Minnesota, second only to manufacturing. It also drives job creation with more than 60 additional jobs created in the state economy for every 100 direct health care services jobs.1

STAFF NEWS
Craig Baarson
and Judy Bergh made site visits to Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls and North Valley Health Center in Warren for the Minnesota Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (Flex).

Craig Baarson, Judy Bergh and Anne Schloegel visited Essentia Health Ada and Mahnomen Health Center to discuss the Minnesota Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (Flex) and Health Information Technology.

Judy Bergh, Jill Myers, Mark Schoenbaum, Angie Sechler and Ed Van Cleave attended Primary Care Regional Strategic Input Planning Meetings across the state.

Judy Bergh and Jill Myers participated in the Rural Health Advisory Committee meeting chaired from International Falls.

Mark Schoenbaum attended the Minnesota Association of Community Health Centers Day at the Capitol in St. Paul.

Kristen Tharaldson met with Bois Forte, Fond du Lac, Grand Portage, Leech Lake, Mille Lacs and White Earth tribal and community members and health and human service colleagues at the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe Legislative Dinner at the Science Museum in St. Paul.
