Biological Emergency Preparedness Information
The MDH Public Health Laboratory (PHL) is a Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Reference Laboratory for the State Of Minnesota. As an LRN Reference Laboratory, the MDH-PHL provides confirmatory testing for potential agents of bioterrorism referred from LRN Sentinel Clinical Laboratories.
Chemical Emergency Preparedness Information
The MDH Public Health Laboratory serves as a Level 1 laboratory in the Laboratory Response Network. As a Level 1 laboratory, the MDH-PHL is capable of looking for select chemicals and chemical metabolites in clinical specimens collected from individuals exposed to toxic chemicals. In addition to providing clinical diagnostic assistance for chemical exposures, the MDH-PHL provides assistance in the identification of substances that may pose a public health threat.
