One Simple Test Can Make a Difference for your Child
The first few hours and days with your baby can be very exciting and full of activity. You are getting to know your new child. Family members may come to see your new little one and your health care providers are busy making sure your baby gets a healthy start. Hospital staff weigh, measure, and examine the baby to make sure he or she grew well and is healthy. Along with these routine checks, your baby will have a special test to look for hidden, rare disorders. This special test is called newborn screening, and it could save your baby’s life.
This website will give you more information on newborn screening, and what your baby’s results mean. We want to congratulate you on your new little arrival and are happy to be a part of caring for your baby!
