Archived Minnesota e-Health Assessment Reports and Factsheets

The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), in partnership with the Minnesota e-Health Initiative, is responsible for assessing e-health in a variety of settings and sharing the findings. This page contains archived reports and factsheets that describe the adoption and use of electronic health records (EHRs) and other health information technology (HIT) and health information exchange in different settings throughout the state.

Clinics

2011
These summaries include information collected in the 2011 Minnesota Health Information Technology Ambulatory Clinic Survey. The 1246 ambulatory clinics that completed the survey provide information on EHR adoption and use, health information exchange and meaningful use. Last updated: September 2012

2010
These summaries from 2010, include information collected in the Minnesota Health Information Technology Ambulatory Clinic Survey. The 1121 ambulatory clinics that completed the survey provided information on applying for the Medicaid and Medicare Incentive Programs, EHR Adoption, and Meaningful Use. Last updated: May 2011


Hospitals

These summaries include information collected from the American Hospital Association Survey, Information Technology Supplement with two addition Minnesota questions. The 129 Minnesota Acute Care Hospitals that completed the survey provided information on applying for the Medicaid and Medicare Incentive Programs, EHR Adoption, and Meaningful Use. Local Health Departments

These summaries include information collected in the Local Health Department  Informatics Survey. The 72 local health departments that completed the survey provide information on status and challenges to adoption of EHRs and health information exchange. Last updated: May 2012


Minnesota e-Health Information Technology Status Updates (2006-2009)

Between the years of 2006 to 2009, the Office of Health Information Technology released a status report on the adoption, use and interoperability of electronic health records and other health information technology in different care settings. These reports led to the development of the e-Health Profile, including updated briefs, factsheets and reports.
