Protecting Your Health Information

Information security is a top priority for health care organizations and significant resources are being invested to protect your health information. In addition to the above, federal and state laws exist to protect an individual’s health information. Federal regulations under the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) affirm the right of individuals to control access to their personal health information. Some states including Minnesota have more protective laws.
