HIT Provisions of the Federal Stimulus Package
On February 17th, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). A portion of the law creates the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act or the HITECH Act. The Minnesota Department of Health has reviewed the law, and is in the process of evaluating opportunities it presents to position Minnesota to access as much funding as possible to promote the adoption, implementation and effective use of health information technology in Minnesota.

MDH Public Conference Call Updates for Minnesota Stakeholders
The Minnesota e-Health Initiative, in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Human Services is sponsoring monthly conference calls to provide brief updates and an opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions on activities related to the implementation of the e-health provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, in particular the HITECH Act. Minnesota HITECH Update calls are scheduled for the third Thursday of every month from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Additional details on each call will be announced through our weekly e-Health Update e-mails.
