Minnesota-Approved Training Curricula
The MDH Nursing Assistant Registry has approved the following curricula as meeting federal and state requirements for training nurse aides.
On July 1, the Minnesota State Long-Term Care Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide Curriculum will be discontinued and will no longer be approved for use in Minnesota nurse aide training programs. Nurse aide training programs using the Minnesota State Long-Term Care Nursing Assistant and Home Health Aide Curriculum must transition to a new curriculum by June 30.
What Do I Need to Do?
Before June 30, you must do one of the following:
- Transition to the Minnesota State Nurse Aide Curriculum 2024 edition, using the Minnesota State website. You can purchase the revised curriculum directly from the Minnesota State Nurse Aide Curriculum page.
- Note: You may not combine portions of the old curriculum with the 2024 edition.
- Declare an alternative curriculum. A list of approved curricula is available on the Minnesota-Approved Training Curricula page of the Nurse Aide Registry website. Training programs who decide to use a different curriculum must notify MDH which curriculum they intend to use by emailing health.nar.coord@state.mn.us.
The forms below should be used for submitting new or revised curriculums for MDH to review. Training programs needing to declare or update the curriculum they are using should email MDH directly at health.nar.coord@state.mn.us.
