Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System: Total Knee Replacement webinar April 8
The Minnesota Department of Health and MN Community Measurement  will present an informational webinar to review the Total Knee Replacement measure for the Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System on April 8, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Total Knee Replacement is a new measure for 2014 reporting. Introduction to Health Care Homes Webinar Series
This four part webinar series is now available for viewing on demand. Topics covered include- 'Making the Case for Health Care Homes, Basics of Patient and Family Centered Care, Getting started on Quality Improvement and Creating a Culture of Change. Weekly Update - March 21

12-county collaborative joins DHS health partnership demonstration
Southern Prairie Community Care, a 12-county collaborative in Southwest Minnesota, recently signed a contract to join the Integrated Health Partnerships demonstration, which strives to deliver higher quality and lower costs through innovative approaches to care and payment.

MNsure reminder: health coverage required by march 31 to avoid penalty
The final deadline to enroll in health insurance inside or outside of MNsure is Monday, March 31, for coverage that begins May 1, 2014. Missing that deadline could mean paying a penalty. The penalty for 2014 is 1 percent of total taxable household income or $95 per person, whichever is greater. MNsure also added Sunday hours through open enrollment. Consumers can get help with enrollment and payment questions and other MNsure information by calling 1-855-3-MNSURE, or 1-855-366-7873.

MDH seeks comments on Minnesota's Quality Incentive Payment System
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is proposing its fourth update to the Minnesota Quality Incentive Payment System since the initial framework was published in January 2010. The updated framework is available at Health Care Quality Measures - Quality Incentive Payment System. Interested stakeholders may submit comments on the updated framework to health.reform@state.mn.us through March 28, 2014.

The Minnesota Department of Health and MN Community Measurement  will present an informational webinar to review the 2014 Patient Experience of Care measure, for the Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System (SQRMS) and Health Care Homes on March 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Visit the MNCM website for more information.

Weekly Update - March 14

MDH seeks comments on Minnesota's Quality Incentive Payment System
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is proposing its fourth update to the Minnesota Quality Incentive Payment System since the initial framework was published in January 2010. The updated framework is available at Health Care Quality Measures - Quality Incentive Payment System. Interested stakeholders may submit comments on the updated framework to health.reform@state.mn.us through March 28, 2014.


All Payer Claims Database Data Aggregator RFP update
After issuing a Request for Proposals and conducting a rigorous competitive search for a data collection vendor, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has selected Onpoint Health Data to continue as the State of Minnesota's data submission and aggregation vendor for the Minnesota Health Care Claims Reporting System (MHCCRS).
With the awarding of this contract and completion of all technical upgrades, MDH will announce  the resumption date of data submissions to the MHCCRS next week. Previous submitters to the MHCCRS will not notice any changes in the data formats or submission process.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time and thank you for your continued participation in this important initiative.

March 25 webinar: Minnesota's SIM Grant and Accountable Communities for Health
Attend this webinar that will include an update and overview of Minnesota's activities related to its $45 million State Innovation Model (SIM) grant. The first part of the Webinar will focus on the goals and vision of the Minnesota Accountable Health Model.
The second part of the webinar will focus on the state's vision for Accountable Communities for Health. As part of SIM Minnesota, the project will seek to identify up to 15 Accountable Communities for Health (ACH) across the state. These communities will put forward innovative proposals and strategies for coordinating care across settings and improving the health of communities. Both parts include time for questions.

Statewide Quality Reporting and Measurement System suspends ambulatory surgical center registration and quality reporting for 2014
MDH has determined that it will suspend statewide quality ambulatory surgical center (ASC) registration and quality measure reporting during 2014, considering that nearly all ASCs have achieved a similar high level of performance on the three quality measures that they have reported on since 2011, and to reduce provider reporting burden. Webinar: Promoting colon cancer screening within the patient centered medical home

The Guide contains evidenced-based tools, sample templates and strategies that can help practices improve their screening performance. This webinar will provide an overview of these resources and address how they are compatible with a health care home approach to preventive health care. CEU certificates available.
